Lay Ministries
The Card-Making Group meets on the third Tuesday evening of the month and the following Thursday afternoon. Ann Hill and Lynne Chaddon host a card-making event at Lynne's home in Bloomington. Ann and Lynne provide kits containing materials for hand-made greeting cards. Attendees pay a nominal fee for each card that they make. Leader – Ann Hill and Lynne Chaddon
The Caring Team befriends those experiencing grief, loss or depression, or who may be hospitalized, live in a care facility or are home-bound. The caring ministers keep in touch with members through confidential visits, phone calls, cards and letters. The team provides a friendly face and listening ear, offering prayer, the sharing of Scripture, rides to church, and Holy Communion for persons unable to attend worship services. RLC’s Crafting Group, which includes men and women, usually meets on the second Friday of each month at 6 p.m.at members' homes. All are welcome to enjoy an evening of fellowship and sharing of gifts and talents. Leaders – Julie Weilbacher, Ann Hill, and Sandy McAuley
The Funeral Meal Ministry provides and serves a meal to bereaved congregation members and friends prior to or after a funeral or memorial service at Resurrection. Leader – Lynne Ekdale
The Meal Ministry provides meals to congregation members during times of stress or transition, such as hospitalizations, births, and deaths. Please contact the church office or Jane Frieden to request meals for yourself or someone else, and one of the coordinators will get in touch with you. Leader – Jane Frieden
The Mission Projects Group meets at RLC on various Thursdays, starting at 1 p.m. Members also complete tasks at home. Stuffed dolls, sewing kits, and feminine hygiene kits were our 2015-2016 projects.
Resurrection's Parish Nursing Ministry assists members of the congregation to become more aware of their health and move toward a fuller sense of wholeness by providing physical, emotional, and spiritual care for individuals and families. Although a Parish Nurse does not give hands on care, she can support members through hospital and home visits. The Parish Nurse is also available by phone or email to any members who have a personal or family health concern they would like to discuss. In addition, blood pressure screening is offered at Resurrection on the first weekend of every month. Leader – Sharon Hoy
People Power – Worship opportunities include roles that enable us to worship, such as Ushers, Lectors, and Worship Assistants. Families and members of any age are invited to participate in various roles. People Power training and mentoring is provided as needed. People Power – Non-Worship roles include assisting with office tasks, maintaining our building and property, helping with meals and hospitality, and participating in learning, care-giving, service, small group leadership, short-term projects, and many other ministry teams. All Resurrection members and friends are encouraged to discern how their gifts can support the ministries of the church through People Power. Leader – Open
The Prayer Chain is a confidential ministry through which concerns of the church family and surrounding community are lifted before the Lord in prayer by men and women of the congregation. Requests are passed through a telephone/e-mail tree and can be made to Toni Cunningham, Pastor Brian, or the church office. New Prayer Chain members are welcome at any time – contact Toni to join. The Prayer Shawl Ministry reaches out to congregation members and friends in need of comfort and solace by creating knitted or crocheted shawls in a spirit of prayer. Handmade blankets can also be used. Patterns, instruction, and support are available. Please contact Mary Meier if you would like to participate or if you have suggestions for shawl recipients. Much of the produce from RLC's Veggie Trails Garden is donated to a food pantry for the hungry of McLean County. Watch for 2016 planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting plans. Leaders – Gary and Julie Weilbacher
The Women’s Bible Study and Lunch Bunch meets from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at members' homes. All women, including friends, are welcome and should contact Julie Weilbacher if they plan to attend. Leaders – Julie Weilbacher and Ann Hill
In Resurrection's Women's Ministry, RLC women and friends form small groups based on similar interests for fun, fellowship, and learning. They also offer a large-group retreat. Shared Leadership
